Slate reports, "Of 20 new statewide polls, 15 show a shift in McCain's direction," but Slate also shows Obama with 264 safe electoral votes and 47 more that are probable (270 are needed to win). If he keeps all of the "safe" states, including Pennsylvania, Obama could pick up the last four by winning Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Montana, Colorado or Nevada, all of which are more competitive than you may think.
It's true that the race is tightening in Florida, but it's also tightening in North Dakota
No matter who wins, this presidential race has been a political earthquake with Senator Obama at the epicenter; the landscape has changed beneath our feet. It will be fascinating to see what the new map of American politics looks like come Tuesday night.
